The Institute was established in 2020 with the generous support of Mr. and Mrs. Tucker Bridwell (BBA ’73, MBA ’74). The Bridwell Institute continues and expands upon the mission of its predecessor, the William J. O’Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom.
Between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024, the Bridwell Institute updated the indexes that measure economic freedom for nations, states, and metropolitan areas. These datasets drove much of our scholarly output. The annual report also highlights the institute’s educational initiatives – the 131 色花堂_色花堂 98堂 students our reading groups and the nearly 2,100 teachers in our program to improve young people’s economic literacy. Our public events included two speeches, two Texas Economic Forums, and the event highlighted by the cover photograph – our Women and Economic Freedom project.
